Long Lost, Not Forgotten

There are certain events in life that totally shift our direction and change us deep within. You go about life, with your set of beliefs and morals. Then something happens to challenge all of that.

You’re suddenly faced with the difficult decision of continuing with the old or taking a risk and jumping on with the new… knowing, that your life may never be the same again. That one decision, that one moment in time, can never be taken back once that choice has been made.

Some people play a big role during these pivotal times. They help facilitate and sometimes expedite the transition. One person who played a huge role in my transformation just contacted me out of the blue today.

It was great hearing the updates and knowing, that while it’s been 16 years since we first met, and probably a good 12 since our last encounter, that the memories are still alive.

Mashallah, true. I believe, this is a pure display of life — a definition of sorts. :)

“Turning Points”! As much as we get hurt from such “Life Twists” we grow and learn from them.

Thats why I think that maturaity can be asseseed by our ability to learn from such experiences and not by age or gender.

Butterfly: i totally agree.. and there’s no greater feeling than to look back at those experiences and be able to smile.. smile because you see how much you’ve benefited from them, rather than how much they hurt you.

Had you been thinking about that person at all recently? Had they crossed your mind lately?

    It’s amazing.

sometimes the best times of your life are when you take that chance and go down a different road. that way… you never look back and wonder what if… or wish you had done something different.

i chose the road less traveled when i came to bahrain. i was told by pretty much everyone not to do it… not to come and not to marry my husband… but i did it anyway…

and i’m glad for it. i will never have that longing inside of me… wondering what would have happened or what if….

sometimes life is just waiting for you on the other side..
