Click This!
“We just clicked!!” “There was so much chemistry between us!” “I didn’t like her/him at all, not sure why though.. it’s not like they’ve done anything to me!”
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. How you meet someone and you automatically feel like you’ve known them forever. You feel very comfortable around them, you open up to them.. Other times, you just see someone and for some reason, you feel like you can’t stand their guts. What’s even more amusing than that, is how kids develop personalities at such a young age! Being stubborn, copping at attitude, the whole 9 yards! They actually challenge their parents and try to outwit them!
Not sure if anyone can offer a ’scientific explanation’ for this, but all I know is, next time someone accuses me of being stubborn/ hard headed/ etc, I’ll just say ‘I WAS BORN THIS WAY!’ and hey, if they dont feel like they ‘click’ with me, then they can click off!

Darling it’s the pheromones thing we were talking about. That’s pretty scientific isn’t it. You “click” with someone based on how they smell (subconsciously).
Also, there’s this book called Blink which talks about things like that. Pretty cool coz it attempts to explain why we make snap judgements based on “gut feelings”. There’s a process called thin-slicing that we tend to do. Basically we gather tiny little pieces of info and process it in a split second and come up with a general feeling before we have even had time to think things through. Can’t be bothered explaining it all here but if you wanna know more let me know and I’ll get back to you.

Msb, (great blog btw!) I say the same thing:) I mean you can’t force a click - it either happens or it doesn’t.
June, what about clicking with people who you haven’t met IRL?

june: while what u wrote may explain ‘chemistry’ between ppl, i still dont see how it explains ‘ppl clicking’ who have never met (via email, chat, phone, etc). we’ll discuss this some more!
(over a COLD bottle of water!)
dandoon: teslemeen, thank u!! and welcome!
i agree.. no click can be forced! regardless of how ‘nice’ a person is.

I think its our instinct..like myself for example, Im a pretty good judge of character…so etha arta7 7ag someone, ill be so comfortable around them and just be myself..however, if i don’t like them..thats when you back off
soo yeah..I dont think its scientific, but our instincts and experiences that help us decipher people better!

faith: i agree to an extent.. but while instinct judges character, what about cases where the person IS nice, IS a good person, yet there’s absolutely NO CLICK!
